You have questions. We have answers!

What is the Back to the Basement concert?

Back to the Basement is a virtual concert in support and celebration of doctors, nurses, first responders, and health-care workers who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 fight. We are raising money to support Direct Relief and help the bands who have had to cancel all their tours.

Who’s performing?

The acts scheduled to perform are: A Flock Of Seagulls, Wang Chung, Naked Eyes, The Escape Club, Nelson, The Vapors, Real Life, Animotion, Cutting Crew, Nu Shooz, Information Society, Spoons, and FarringtonMann (“The Promise”). There will be special presentations from Tiffany, Downtown Julie Brown, Richard Blade, and hopefully a few guests. The performances are all brand-new, never-before-seen, and almost all are from their own homes, which is why we have been saying they are playing “live from their living rooms to yours!” There is no cost to watch; we just ask that you support Direct Relief and the bands participating.

What is Direct Relief?

Direct Relief is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization with a stated mission to “improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergency situations by mobilizing and providing essential medical resources needed for their care.” We are raising funds for their COVID-19 Relief program: Making sure the courage of health workers on the front lines is honored with meaningful support, and the people most at risk in this pandemic are cared for – regardless of politics, religion, or ability to pay.
